Kindergarten Listening practice
5 Kindergarten listening lessons, including who says that?, listen and find, how many times?, first sound, which one does not rhyme?. Each one has a short video where Pip explains the idea, a worked example, and endless new practice questions with step-by-step help when a child gets stuck.
Step 1: Who says that?
Listening helps us know what is around us, even sounds.
Tip: Listen, then say the sound yourself. Which animal makes it?
Step 2: Listen and find
Good listeners hear the whole word before they choose.
Tip: Tap Listen again if you are not sure. Then say the word out loud yourself.
Step 3: How many times?
Careful listeners can count what they hear.
Tip: Hold up a finger each time you hear the word.
Step 4: First sound
Every word starts with a sound. Listen to the very beginning.
Tip: Say the word slowly and stretch the first sound: sssun.
Step 5: Which one does not rhyme?
Rhyming words sound the same at the end, like cat and hat.
Tip: Say each word slowly and listen to the ending sound.
